Sports Betting Is Legal in Kansas

Kansas lawmakers working to legalize sports betting had a hectic year in 2022. The Kansas House of Representatives approved SB 84, the renowned sports betting bill that would permit the activity in Kansas. It was, however, immediately sent to the Senate for approval. It is currently awaiting recognition until the Senate gets underway on April 25.

SB 84 allows Kansas’ four state casinos to cooperate with operators working to provide sports betting options in the state. The bill also includes a 10% tax on operators and state regulation of both professional and collegiate sports gambling in the state.

Sports betting is predicted to become so shortly. Kansas lawmakers have indicated they intend to start operations well before the 2022 NFL season.
