MGM Collection’s Hotel Partnership With Marriott Bonvoy Begins in October

MGM Resorts and Marriott have launched a new hotel alliance. The new “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy” relationship will go into effect on October 1.

This transaction involves 12 MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas. Customers of Marriott will gain access to 17 MGM Resorts locations and 40,000 rooms across the United States. Members of Marriott Bonvoy will be able to book reservations, collect, and utilize Marriott Bonvoy points at MGM Resorts hotels.

This collaboration has been circulating since MGM Resorts purchased Cosmopolitan. Marriott had served as a partner of Cosmopolitan since before MGM Resorts bought it.

“This historic, long-term partnership brings together two of the most trusted and recognized companies in hospitality and entertainment,” MGM Resorts president and CEO Bill Hornbuckle said in a news release.

Hornbuckle went on to say:

“Through our present connection at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, we’ve seen firsthand the strong demand from Marriott International customers, and this new agreement will allow us to optimize our overall profitability further.” We’re excited to expand our partnership and provide Marriott Bonvoy members with more widespread access to our award-winning resorts, as well as special event and entertainment options, in Las Vegas and across the United States.”

It is a mutual partnership in which MGM Rewards members can link their accounts to Marriott Bonvoy. Members will be able to benefit from the worldwide hotel rewards program as a result of this.

The news of the renewed 20-year strategic license arrangement comes shortly after Hyatt announced its separation from MGM Resorts after September 30. Neither firm has said anything about how tier-matching will function. It was one of the most popular advantages of the MGM Rewards and Hyatt alliance.

MGM Resorts in the Marriott Reservation System

The “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy” consists of 17 casino hotels in the United States. Aside from this brand, a few others will join the Cosmopolitan as part of a distinct Marriott brand.

• Aria will be included in the Autograph Collection alongside Cosmopolitan.
• Park MGM will be included in the Tribute Collection.
• Bellagio will be included in the Luxury Collection.
• MGM Resorts emphasizes that the present Marriott Cosmopolitan alliance will not be altered.

The MGM Resorts Las Vegas locations listed below will be part of the “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy.”

Outside of Las Vegas, the “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy” collaboration covers a few properties:

• MA: MGM Springfield
• MD: MGM National Harbor
• MI: MGM Grand Detroit
• MS: Beau Rivage
• NJ: Borgata

Rewards Programs will Collaborate

Marriott Bonvoy, along with MGM Rewards members, will benefit from significant rewards and experiences.

Members of Marriott Bonvoy will receive advantages at “MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy” locations. MGM Rewards members will also enjoy advantages at over 8,500 Marriott Bonvoy locations.

MGM Rewards members will be able to swap their points for Marriott Bonvoy points and the other way around. As October 1 approaches, the two entities will provide more particular information on their collaboration.

BetMGM is also a Part of the Agreement

Marriott has also signed a loyalty marketing arrangement with BetMGM, a national sportsbook and online casino provider. Marriott Bonvoy will be BetMGM’s official hotel loyalty program partner in the United States and Canada.

Specifics are scarce at this point, but both companies have outlined some of the ways they will collaborate. Marriott Bonvoy members will be able to receive Marriott Bonvoy points on select BetMGM purchases.

In addition, Marriott Bonvoy members are going to be able to engage in exclusive BetMGM games and offers. It will be a reciprocal agreement, with BetMGM Rewards members able to trade their points for Marriott Bonvoy points. Similar to the hotel rewards association, more information will be released closer to October 1.
